President Yoweri Museveni on Friday passed out military officers who successfully completed a course in Counter-Terrorism.

President Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces presided over the pass out ceremony of the officers who completed their training at Nakasongola Airforce base, according to the senior Presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi.

“Today, HE the President has passed out Counter Terrorism warriors Nakasongola. They’re trained in fighting in builtup areas,in air, under very strenuous circumstances using both small arms & heavy weapons, at short & long distances thereby leaving no room for the enemy to escape,” Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu the Deputy UPDF spokesman said in a tweet.

Before the pass out, the officers performed a number of military drills, including air-to-surface landing from Mi 17 choppers, as well as dropping fighters in unknown territory to confront the enemy.

The Chief of Defense Forces Gen Wilson Mbadi and the Joint Chief of Staff, Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda were present at the ceremony.
