President Museveni Grants Official Burial to MP Cecilia Ogwal.

President Yoweri Museveni has granted an official burial to deceased Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament, Cecilia Ogwal.

Ogwal, passed away on Thursdy in India where she had been receiving treatment.

On Saturday, the Minister in charge of the Presidency, Milly Babalanda through her X platform confirmed that Ogwal has been granted an official burial.

“Dear countrymen, I wish to inform you that the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Gen (Rtd) Kaguta Museveni, has granted an official burial to the Hon. Imat Cecilia Atim Ogwal , the fallen Dokolo District Woman Representative (DWR),” Babalanda posted.

She added that the President is to attend the vigil in honour of the deceased.

“Furthermore, H.E the President will personally attend the vigil in honour of the Late at Parliament.”

According to the funeral program released by the Parliament, the fallen politician’s body is expected in the country on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

The program further indicates that Parliament will pay tribute to the Ogwal on Monday and later the body will be taken to the deceased’s home in Bogolobi for vigil.

She will be laid to rest on Monday, January 27, 2024 at her ancestral home in Dog Gudu Cell, Alito Town Council, Kole district.
