President Yoweri Museveni today continued his vigorous Busoga campaign trail with major stops in Namayingo and Mayuge, drawing large crowds of NRM supporters who turned up to hear his message of economic recovery and community transformation.
The campaign focuses on consolidating national gains while pushing households to embrace government wealth-creation initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, Operation Wealth Creation, Youth Livelihood, and Women Entrepreneurship programs. He has also focused on infrastructural development such as improving the road network, upgrading Hc’s to main hospitals and reiterating free education for all. He has spoken of education and skills training via vocational hubs, agriculture and industrial growth to create jobs.
Namayingo District- Key facts
Namayingo District has a population of 266,716, with 11 Sub-Counties/Town Councils, 50 Parishes, and 306 villages. The district has 124,209 registered voters in 2025, up from 107,234 in 2021, and 303 polling stations, up from 216. Through the PDM, Shs 15.35 billion has been disbursed to 15,409 households, while Emyooga has 54 SACCOs and Shs 1.3 billion disbursed. Education includes 84 government primary schools and 129 private schools, and 7 government secondary schools offering Universal Secondary Education and Universal Post Ordinary Level Education, with 3 new seed schools under construction. Health coverage includes 1 HCIV and 8 HCIIIs, with 2 sub-counties lacking a government health facility, and Buyinja HCIV has a digital X-ray. Safe water coverage is 71.2 percent with major piped water projects completed and others ongoing, while 7 of 11 sub-counties are connected to electricity, with 4 more planned.

Mayuge District has a population of 577,563, with 16 Sub-Counties/Town Councils, 84 Parishes, and 493 villages. There are 276,076 registered voters in 2025, up from 231,116 in 2021, and 654 polling stations, up from 437. PDM has disbursed Shs 25.2 billion to 25,200 households, and Emyooga has 54 SACCOs with Shs 2.88 billion disbursed. Education includes 143 government primary schools and 401 private schools, and 12 government secondary schools, with 4 new seed schools under construction. Health coverage includes 3 HCIVs and 11 HCIIIs, with only 3 sub-counties lacking a government health facility, and upgrades are planned. Safe water coverage is 81.7 percent with several piped water systems completed and others ongoing, while 12 of 16 sub-counties are connected to electricity, with 4 more scheduled for connection.
