President Meets UPDF High Command

President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces yesterday met the UPDF High Command at State House Entebbe.

The High Command, one of UPDF’s top decision making bodies reviewed ongoing operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia, according to highly placed sources in the military.

The meeting chaired by the President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces also reviewed the general security situation in the country.

The meeting was attended by top UPDF leadership including the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his Deputy Lt Gen Sam Okiding. Others that attended include the Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga, Reserve Force Commander, Lt Gen Otema Awany, Commander Airforce Lt Gen Charles Okidi, SFC Maj Gen BD Mugisha among other service commanders and chiefs.

The meeting was also attended by officials from the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs including the Minister, Jacob Oboth Oboth, the State Ministers, Huda Oleru and Sarah Nyirabashitsi, Permanent Secretary Ms Rosette Byengoma among others.
