President Lauds Poverty Alleviation Efforts in Gomba and Sembabule Districts

President Museveni has expressed satisfaction with the strides made by leaders in Gomba and Sembabule Districts in the fight against poverty and the enhancement of household incomes.

During his visit to Kisozi, the president indicated notable success observed in the nine villages that had been recipients of a pilot project initiated in 2011.

The project involved distribution of  money, pigs, goats, cows, and coffee seedlings to improve their household incomes and standard of living of locals in Gomba and Sembabule districts.

The President acknowledged the ongoing challenge of extending the project’s benefits to the remaining villages and assured that necessary support would be provided to facilitate this expansion for inclusive development.

Additionally, he called on leaders in the district to ensure continuous community engagement to ensure widespread participation in government programs such as the Poverty-Graduation Model (PDM) and Emyooga.
