Police Recover Stolen Vehicles in Masaka and Nakasongola
Police have found a bunch of suspected stolen cars in Masaka and Nakasongola.The recovered items are now at the Flying Squad Headquarters in Kireka.
This happened after a Flying Squad operation on October 26, 2023, in the Kampala Metropolitan area targeting car thieves.
They arrested a suspect Kisule Juma, who admitted to being part of the group that steals and sells cars.
According to SCP Hadijja Namutebi, the Chief Political Commissar (CPC),the suspect also gave up the names of his partners. The police picked up the others – Kavuma Godfrey, Sekindu Henry Kakuru, and Mulinda Sepriano – from Wobulenzi in Luwero District.
SCP Namutebi says during questioning, Kavuma and Sekindu Henry confessed to stealing and selling cars. They spilled the beans on where and to whom they sold the cars. Kavuma Godfrey took the police to Nakasongola and Masaka Districts, where they found several stolen cars.
She says the gang stole these cars and sold them to people who didn’t know they were stolen. Namutebi says more recoveries and arrests are happening, and the suspects will face charges for stealing cars.
