The Uganda Police Force is investigating the cause of a fire outbreak that occurred last night along Ntinda–Kiwatule Road in Kinawataka, Bukoto II Parish, Nakawa Division.

The incident, which took place at approximately 10:00 PM on 27th May 2025, affected a row of kiosks and small businesses operating in the area. According to police, the fire was quickly reported to Ntinda Police Station, prompting an immediate response from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services.

Multiple firefighting units were dispatched to the scene and managed to contain the blaze, successfully preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.

Preliminary reports indicate that no lives were lost, but several businesses including coffee shops, food stalls, and interior design workshops were severely damaged.

“The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Our investigative teams are currently working to establish the circumstances that led to the outbreak,” stated ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police.

Affected business owners and residents are urged to cooperate with investigators, as police continue to collect evidence and eyewitness accounts.
