Police Cracks Down on Illegal Passenger Transport, Impounding 12 Vehicles

The Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety has intensified operations on drivers transporting passengers without valid licenses.

The revelation was communicated by Traffic spokesperson Micheal Kananura through an official statement, where he revealed that 12 vehicles have been impounded for driving passengers without Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licenses.

Kananura says among the impounded cars include; 10 drones, 10 school coasters, and 2 school buses all held by December 24, 2023. In conjunction with these impoundments, several drivers have been arrested.

Kananura says  that the Traffic Directorate will also continue its operations against reckless drivers, particularly in light of the festive season to secure road safety and prevent potential accidents.
