Joint Security Personnel have intensified efforts to guarantee peace, safety, and security for both Ugandans and visitors ahead of the festive season.

According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, armed and unarmed patrols are actively monitoring mapped out areas, implementing increased visibility, and conducting road policing measures such as snap checks and stop-and-search operations.

“Despite the existence of a potential threat environment, authorities reassure the public that a comprehensive approach is in place to review preparedness levels continually. Joint intelligence components have meticulously profiled major installations, significant venues, and potential hotspots to identify and address any security risks.” says Enanga

He further explains that various specialized teams, including standby teams, mobile squads, advance teams, 999 patrol, and motorcycle squads, have been strategically deployed to enhance security throughout the holiday season.

Enanga adds that a combination of CCTV technology has been implemented to capture vehicle number plates and driver images.

Enanga is encouraging owners of private CCTV cameras to work with the police by promptly reporting any signs of danger and sharing recorded footage.

He has also urged the public is urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to contribute to the overall safety and well-being of the community.
