Police in the Albertine region have arrested two prime suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a 38-year-old woman in Kakumiro District.
The suspects have been identified as Jordan Kibuka, 25, and Semata, also known as Kidewalime, 23. They are accused of attacking and killing Namulindwa Victoria, a resident of Rwensera B Cell in Kakumiro District.
According to police, the attack occurred on 27 February 2026 when the suspects reportedly stormed Namulindwa’s home armed with heavy sticks.
During the violent assault, Namulindwa and several members of her household were seriously injured. The attackers allegedly beat the victims using the sticks.
Police say three of Namulindwa’s children and their maid were also badly injured during the attack.
All the victims were rushed to Mubende Hospital for emergency medical treatment. However, Namulindwa later succumbed to the severe injuries she sustained.
The other victims remain under medical care and are reported to be in stable condition. Health workers say they are expected to recover.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that the suspects had allegedly been targeting homes within Kakumiro District.
Authorities say the suspects used heavy sticks as their weapon of choice, mainly during robberies.
Investigators believe the attack on Namulindwa’s home may have been premeditated and that the suspects could be linked to other similar crimes in the area.
Police say investigations are still ongoing to establish the full extent of the suspects’ criminal activities.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.
Police also called on members of the public to promptly report any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station.
Officials say community cooperation remains critical in the fight against crime.
Police say the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are completed.
