PM Nabbanja Invites UAE Investors to Explore Expanding Opportunities in Uganda
Uganda’s Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah, has encouraged investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to continue viewing Uganda as a prime investment destination with promising opportunities.
This message was conveyed in a keynote address delivered by the Prime Minister at the ongoing UAE-Uganda Business Forum in Abu Dhabi last evening.
Currently, the UAE stands as Uganda’s leading source of foreign direct investment, with UAE companies having already invested approximately USD 3 billion in the country. Meanwhile, Uganda exports goods worth USD 2 billion to the UAE and imports goods worth USD 1.4 billion, establishing the UAE as Uganda’s leading export destination in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Nabbanja highlighted that there are still numerous business opportunities that both countries can capitalize on to further strengthen their economic ties.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were State Minister John Mulimba, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Ramathan Ggoobi, and the Managing Director of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Patrick Ayota.
