Police in Namisindwa District have arrested a self proclaimed pastor for brutally killing his pregnant wife.
The suspect 48, a pastor at Christ Church in Bukhabusi Sub-county, killed his 44 year old wife who was 22 weeks pregnant during a deep heated fight. The deceased has been identified as Agnes Mandala, a local from Malukhu Village, Butiru Parish Namisindwa District where the couple resided.
Mandala’s lifeless body was found dumped at a water stream in the area on Wednesday, with deep cuts specifically on the face, back and spleen.
Eye witnesses allege that the suspect accused his wife of being unfaithful and carrying another man’s child. The lifeless body of the deceased was discovered on the banks of a deep stream of water on Wednesday.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Regional Police Spokesperson, police officers used a canine dog to realize Mandala’s killer as it led them to the pastor’s home.
Taitika has cautioned couples against using violence to resolve marital issues but instead go to relevant authorities.
