The Parliamentary Committee on Health is in Abuja, Nigeria to share experiences on the proposed Assisted Reproductive Technology Bill.

The seven member delegation led by Chairperson, Hon. Joseph Ruyonga Joseph is in Abuja to learn from the operations of NISA Medical Hospital, founded by Dr. Wada Ibrahim, an IVF specialist.

The Committee paid a courtesy call on the Nigeria National Assembly and visited NISA Premier Hospital, Garki hospital, Deda hospital and a Ferrility Aid Clinic.

The MPs have also held deliberations with Nigeria’s Health Minister, the Chairperson of the Health Committee, the Chief Justice, the President AFRH and the Chairperson of the West African College of Surgeons on the subject of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).

The Legislators held key discussions on the IVF journey, emotional support and counseling, ART Regulations and related regulations, surrogacy and parenthood, international perspectives of IVF legislation and the religious view on ART.
