NUP reacts as Minister Otafire pins Bobi Wine for parading accident victims at Human Rights torture event

The National Unity Platform (NUP) has responded to remarks that they employed fake people as torture people at a UN Human Rights Accountability Conference in Kenya in November 2022.

The NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi, says it is true that some people were casualties of hit and run on the road, not only during the 2020 campaign time but also on other occasions.

“There are some who were victims of accidents after being deliberately hit by a police or military truck and these are  lucky to have survived with injuries, but there are those who died.If Gen Otafire is looking for evidence , it is in the hands of people like Fred Enanga(police spokesperson),”he explained

The NUP Party principal Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and other opposition leaders are in hot sauce following a directive by Internal Affairs Minister Kahinda Otafire to investigate them for treason.

Speaking on the sidelines of the commissioning of police housing units on Thursday, Otafire said Bobi wine used the international event to embarrass his country by parading boda boda accident victims disguised as torture victims.

The event was attended by dignitaries from several countries alongside other Ugandan opposition political leaders including; Alliance for National Transformation -ANT National Coordinator Mugishia Muntu, Kiiza Besigye , Winnie Kiiza among others.

Bobi Wine alleged that 100 people were shot dead by security officers during the 2020 campaigns and needed accountability. He also brought along several other victims that he accused of being tortured and sodomized by security officers.
