NRM’s Rose Kabagyeni Intensifies Campaigns in Kisoro Ahead of Thursday Poll
In a strategic push to secure victory, NRM officials and their nominee for the upcoming election, Rose Kabagyeni, took their campaign efforts to a more focused level yesterday afternoon with town hall meetings across Kisoro District’s five counties.
The meetings, attended by party leaders and local representatives, were part of a broader effort to consolidate support and encourage turnout in the final days before the election.
Key figures from the NRM secretariat, members of the Central Executive Committee, and regional legislators were present, rallying local leaders to stand firmly behind Kabagyeni.
Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, the NRM Deputy National Treasurer and campaign head, emphasized the importance of unified support. “We urge you to vote for Kabagyeni and also make sure the votes are well protected at all polling stations,” she stated during the engagement in Bufumbira South.
Kyatuhaire stressed the significance of grassroots support in monitoring the election, urging party leaders familiar with the region’s terrain to aid in mobilizing votes.
“You should do a good job in the remaining campaign days to ensure the NRM flag in Kisoro keeps flying high,” she added, emphasizing the role of local knowledge and presence.
While officials conducted town hall gatherings, Kabagyeni took to the field, canvassing in Kyanika town council and the Chahi and Nyakinama sub-counties.
Her rallies focused on the NRM’s record on service delivery, community empowerment, and development initiatives aimed at improving local livelihoods. She called for unity, cautioning against vote-splitting. “We cannot afford to divide our votes in this election to weaken our party. I urge you to vote for the NRM because it is pro-people in its policies,” Kabagyeni stated.
The campaign trail will intensify on Tuesday, November 12, when President Yoweri Museveni, also the NRM Chairman, is expected to join Kabagyeni’s rally at Ssaza Grounds, adding his endorsement and encouraging local voter turnout.
The NRM hopes that this final mobilization effort will solidify their influence in Kisoro as they head into the polls.
