NRM Electoral Commission Unveils Roadmap for Party Structure Elections
The Chairman of the National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission, Dr. Tanga Odoi, unveiled a provisional roadmap today, Thursday, November 23rd, outlining the electoral process for Party structures from the village to the district level.
During a press conference at the party’s EC offices, Dr. Tanga announced that the program would commence with the registration of NRM members at the village level, spanning from November 2023 to February 29th, 2024.
Dr. Tanga specified that the Expression of Interest and nomination of candidates for party structures at the village/cell level would start from Friday, March 1st to 7th, 2024. Campaigns for candidates are scheduled for March 8th to 10th, 2024.
Further elucidating, Dr. Tanga stated that March 11th, 2024, would mark the polling date and the announcement of results.
He mentioned that the compilation of the voters’ register and polling for NRM party structures at the parish level would commence on March 28th. The municipal and division level processes would be conducted on the same date, managed by the NRM Electoral Commission District Registrar at municipalities.
The tentative roadmap additionally outlines that the compilation of the voters’ register and polling for the District/city level is scheduled for April 1st, 2024.
The NRM has also committed to providing updates on the election of positions for the NRM presidential candidate and NRM party flag bearers.
