The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission(EC) has met with the ministry of health officials before releasing the road map for the party primaries.

The three-hour meeting at the ministry’s office focused on conducting the party elections without violating the COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

The party EC boss Tanga Odoi says the committee will meet the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) on Saturday before releasing the road map.

“Certainly, we are going back to CEC but before we go back we’re going to meet the scientists so that they take us through what we should do and we take them through what kind of election the party has,” he says.

Odoi notes that the party has elections for different kinds of flag bearers including special interest groups in colleges, the youth, women, and elders, among others.

“And we have the other election for the government from LCV up to president. We a massive election to choose about three million leaders. So, we want them to advise us on the guidelines, the new normal, and what we should do without violating the principles of COVID-19,” Odoi says.

He has asked the aspiring candidates to use this period to verify their academic papers before presenting themselves for nominations.

“Our roadmap will start with the list of the register in July. Go to the TVs, radios, talk shows and introduce your self, start the campaign, you can even start now,” Odoi says.
