The people of Mubende District continue to express deep appreciation for the transformative achievements delivered by the NRM government between 2021 and 2025, particularly in the education and skills development sector. These strategic investments have strengthened human capital, empowered young people, and laid a firm foundation for sustainable socio-economic progress across the district.

Education has remained a central pillar of government action in Mubende. The district currently hosts 118 Universal Primary Education schools, ensuring that children across communities have access to free and quality primary education. This strong primary education base is complemented by 15 government-aided secondary schools, four seed secondary schools, and two technical institutes, offering learners multiple pathways to academic advancement and skills development.

Several parishes across Mubende have benefited from expanded education infrastructure, with more than one primary school established in areas such as Kanyogoga, Kisagazi, Kalama, Makukuulu, Kituule, Kabulamuliro, Naluwondwa, Kansambya, Katente, Kijjumba, Kabyuma, Kalonga, Bugonzi, Ntungamo, Kasaana, Kisombwa, and Kabowa. This expansion has brought education closer to families, improved learning conditions, and enhanced school enrolment and retention.

A landmark achievement during this period has been the establishment of the Presidential Industrial Skilling Hub in Kitenga Sub-county, serving the entire Greater Mubende region. The hub has so far trained 929 students in practical, job-ready skills. Learners are equipped in areas such as tailoring, leather works, and value addition, enabling them to transition confidently into self-employment and enterprise creation. Products such as shoes and belts made at the hub stand as visible symbols of skills translating into productivity and income.

To further strengthen secondary education, the government constructed Mugungulu Seed School, Butologo Seed School, and Bagezza Seed School, expanding access to quality education in previously underserved areas. In addition, new classroom blocks were constructed at Lwegura, Muyinayina, Kashenyi, and Butitu Primary Schools in Kasambya Sub-county, as well as St Mary’s Mubende and Kansera Primary Schools in East and West Divisions.

These achievements reflect the NRM government’s deliberate commitment to education as a driver of transformation. In Mubende District, investment in schools and skills is shaping a confident, skilled, and productive generation, firmly positioned to contribute to Uganda’s continued growth and prosperity.
