Newly Consecrated Global South Fellowship Bishops Commence Formation Retreat in Uganda

Newly consecrated and enthroned Bishops from the Global South Fellowship have commenced their weeklong formation retreat at the Lweza Training and Conference Center on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda, today.

The retreat, which gathers new Bishops along with their wives from Africa, Asia, and Latin America representing 12 Provinces, commenced with a Holy Communion Service led by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu.

In his sermon, Archbishop Kaziimba emphasized the challenges and opportunities inherent in the role of a Bishop.

“The primary duty of a Bishop is to proclaim the gospel to all nations. It entails a new calling with its own set of challenges and numerous opportunities. While many doors may be open, not all are meant to be entered,” Archbishop Kaziimba stated.

He further remarked, “The workload is significant, underscoring the importance of delegation. Work itself does not become obsolete; it is we, the workers, who age.”
