New UN Resident Coordinator, Chinese Ambassador Present Credentials to Museveni

The new Chinese Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Zhang Lizhong, has presented his letters of credence to President Yoweri Museveni.

According to State House, Lizhong met with Museveni on Tuesday (July 27, 2021).

“H.E Lizhong’s most recent posting was in the Republic of Maldives,” State House said.

Museveni also confirmed receiving credentials from Lizhong who replaces Zheng Zhuqiang, who has been attached to Uganda since 2017.

“I received credentials for the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Uganda, H.E Susan Ngongi Namondo, and the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda H.E Zhang Lizhong,” Museveni said.

“I congratulate and wish them a fruitful tenure in their respective offices,” he added.

Namondo who hails from Cameroon replaces Rosa Malango.
