New Sports Director Takes Charge in UPDF: Lt Col JA Kulu Assumes Leadership
Lt Col JA Kulu has officially taken over as the new Sports Director for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), succeeding Col Michael Ssemanda.
In a ceremony presided over by Brig Gen Mwanja Ssekiranda, he emphasized the need for Lt Col Kulu to develop a comprehensive sports strategy aimed at elevating UPDF’s sports activities to greater heights.
Commending the outgoing director, Col Ssemanda, Brig Ssekiranda challenged Lt Col Kulu to build upon the foundation laid by his predecessor and enhance the sports department even further. Acknowledging the magnitude of the appointment, Brig Ssekiranda emphasized the importance of coordination, teamwork, and cooperation for success and assured Lt Col Kulu of the UPDF’s strategic leadership’s support.
Col Deus Taremwa, the Chief of Education, Sports, and Culture in UPDF, praised Col Ssemanda for his dedicated service and noted that his tenure set a strong foundation for Lt Col Kulu to build upon
During his remarks, Col Ssemanda urged staff from various sports disciplines to cooperate with the incoming director and provide professional guidance for any necessary adjustments.
