Nabbanja Unveils Initiatives for Economic Growth in Gomba

The Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja commended the residents of Gomba district for actively participating in agriculture, emphasizing that their commitment extends beyond food production to being a pathway for economic prosperity.

During her address at the Gomba District Agricultural Expo organized by the Office of the Prime Minister, she encouraged the community to explore high-value crops and adopt irrigation for year-round sustained production.

In her commitment to improving access to electricity, the Prime Minister announced the government’s initiative to provide free power connections to homes. She urged residents to wire their houses, emphasizing that this effort aims to elevate living standards and create economic opportunities.

Turning her attention to healthcare, Prime Minister Nabbanja directed the District Health Officer to submit a letter requesting the elevation of Kanoni Health Center III to Health Center IV, aligning with the government’s policy. She assured the people of Gomba West that steps would be taken to transform Kanoni Health Centre III into Health Center IV.

Rt. Hon Namayanja Rose Nsereko, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Deputy Secretary General, stressed the crucial role of community leaders in monitoring government projects. She urged leaders to stay informed about initiatives and communicate effectively with the public, emphasizing that effective service delivery is paramount.

Namayanja also highlighted the significance of political participation, emphasizing the importance of attending strategic decision-making meetings for effective representation. She encouraged residents to vote for NRM flagbearers, citing the NRM caucus as a key platform for decision-making.

Hon. Sylvia Nayebale, Gomba Woman MP, expressed gratitude for the government’s reduction in the last-mile electricity connection cost, acknowledging its positive impact on the community. She urged for continued support and additional connections to further improve residents’ lives.

The Gomba District Agricultural Expo, presided over by Prime Minister Nabbanja, also featured Hon Godfrey Kiwanda, the NRM Vice Chairman for Central Region, Ministers, Members of Parliament, and other key figures within the agricultural sector.
