Musician Jose Chameleone Faces Assault Allegations

Police have initiated investigations into the assault allegations against Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone. The singer is accused of attacking young female artist Cynthia Nagawa, professionally known as Sencere Music.

Sencere claims Chameleone assaulted her on the morning of Saturday, June 9, and attempted to strangle her. She states that he inflicted injuries on her face, arms, and abdomen.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire confirmed in a statement on Monday evening that investigations are ongoing, and the Leone Island boss will soon be required to report to record a statement.

Owoyesigire mentioned that Sencere filed the case at Kira Road Police Station on Sunday morning.

“She claims that the musician attempted to strangle her while they were at Casablanca bar in Kololo in the early hours of June 9,” said the police spokesperson.

“We recorded a statement from her and provided her with a form, which she took to doctors who confirmed that she was injured.”

“We are now investigating all these allegations and will summon Chameleone to make a statement.”
