President Museveni through the Ministry of Lands and Urban development is to issue out over ten thousand land titles to the residents of Hoima District according to Resident District Commissioner of Kikuube and also aspiring member of Parliament for Bugahya county in Hoima, Amlan Tumusiime.

Tumusiime made this pronouncements during the burial of Catholic catechist Francis Amanyire in Kasomolo in Hoima District where he was addressing a group of mourners.

The Commissioner highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to secure land ownership for Ugandans noting that this initiative follows a similar move Last year when Museveni through the Lands Ministry gave out twenty thousand land titles to Kikuube district.

I want to emphasize the importance of Land titles in fostering development and reducing land disputes. I encourage all mourners who are listening to me to act swiftly to benefit from good initiative. Land is the foundation of our Livelihood, let us this chance to protect what is ours, Tumusiime said.

In his closing remarks, he drew inspiration from the biblical verse of Jeremiah which is connected to the collective grief that the community was going through the loss of their catechist.

The Land titling initiative is part of President Museveni’s broader agenda to formalise land ownership across Uganda aimed at empowering communities and boosting economic growth.
