Museveni, Salva Kiir Review South Sudan Peace Deal

President Yoweri Museveni and his South Sudan counterpart Salva Kiir have held bilateral discussions at State House, Entebbe on matters pertaining to the two sister countries.

President Kiir arrived in Uganda on Thursday on a working visit at the invitation of his host.

A brief statement from State House noted that the two leaders had met but no details were availed.

“I welcomed His Excellency Salva Kiir, President of South Sudan to State House Entebbe, this afternoon.
Our discussions centred on common interests between our two nations, particularly border security, the conflict in the Sudan and other important regional issues,” the statement on the President’s X handle noted.
It is believed that the two principles also reviewed the peace deal that ended the civil war in South Sudan where an estimated 450,000 people were killed and over 2 million displaced during the war.
