Museveni Promises to Support Youth-Led Innovations

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has announced his intention to financially support youth-led innovations in Uganda. In his speech at the 4th Youth Business Forum and Expo held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, the President Museveni emphasized the need for young innovators to access funds from the Uganda Development Bank (UDB).

President Museveni expressed gratitude to the youth for their initiative in finding solutions to the country’s problems and urged them to focus on economically viable innovations. He highlighted key areas of focus, including food production, clothing, shelter, health, mobility, and security, encouraging young entrepreneurs to cluster their products and assess demand locally and globally.

The European Union Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Jan Sadek, commended the youth’s potential for innovation and pledged the EU’s support for their economic empowerment. Sadek encouraged collaboration and mentorship among young entrepreneurs.

Various dignitaries, including the Minister of State for Investment and Privatization Evelyn Anite and the National Female Youth Member of Parliament, Phiona Nyamutoro praised President Museveni’s efforts to support youth participation in Uganda’s economic development. The event brought together government officials, young entrepreneurs, and innovators, underlining the nation’s commitment to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among its youth.
