Museveni Flies to Kenya for Three-Day Working Visit
President Museveni has this morning arrived in Kenya’s coastal city of Mombasa for a three-day state visit on the invitation of His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta.
Besides bilateral meetings, President Museveni will also tour Mombasa Port before proceeding to Nairobi for further engagements.
At the Moi International Airport in Mombasa, President Museveni, who was honoured with a 21-gun salute, was received by his host, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Minister Sam Kutesa and Kenya’s High Commissioner Phoebe Otaala, among other officials.
In a statement, Mr Museveni said: “Our discussions will focus on how to strengthen our countries’ political, social and economic ties.”
President Yoweri Museveni has just returned from the South African city of Pretoria where he attended a two day SADC Solidarity Conference on Western Sahara.
The 38th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of SADC approved the convening of a Conference on Solidarity with the Saharawi people. South Africa and Namibia are co-hosting the SADC Solidarity Conference with Western Sahara.
During the Solidarity Conference, the SADC Heads of State and Government expressed the region’s support for decolonisation and self-determination for Western Sahara on the basis of the values and principles that have guided the quest for independence throughout Africa.
