Museveni Drops Doris Akol as URA Commissioner General, BoU’s Kasekende Replaced

President Museveni has appointed Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki as the new Commissioner General of Uganda Revenue Authority.

Mr Musinguzi replaces Ms Doris Akol who has been at the helm of the tax body for six years.

Ms Akol had replaced Ms Alen Kagina, the current executive director of the Uganda National Roads Authority.

“By virtue of powers granted to me by the Constitution, I have appointed Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki as the new Commissioner General of @URAuganda.This appointment takes immediate effect,” Mr Museveni tweeted.

Mr Museveni has also appointed a new deputy governor of the Bank of Uganda, following the expiry of Dr Louis Kasekende’s contract.

“I have also appointed Dr Michael Atingi-Ego as the new Deputy Governor, Bank of Uganda. I have forwarded his name to Parliament for vetting,” Mr Museveni announced.
