Museveni Calls for Fresh Caution on Covid 19Transmission

President Museveni says the public needs to observe standard practices to minimize the spread of covid 19.

He made the call while announcing  that Maama Janet Kataha is officially out of isolation after recovering from covid19.

Last week the president revealed that the first lady and education minister had tested postive for covid 19 after showing symptoms on christmas day.

In a most recent message on his X platform, the President reveals that recent samples sent to Mbarara returned with all results indicating negativity for the coronavirus.

He confirmed that he had also undergone testing two days prior, yielding negative results similar to those on December 26, 2023.

President however revealed information from medical professionals regarding the transmission of the virus.

According to the doctors, the COVID-19 transmits through physical contact with infected hands, particularly on sensitive body parts.

He called on the public to maintain hygiene practices to curb the spread of the virus.

“The doctors are now saying that corona spreads more through touching yourself on the soft parts of the body (the eyes, the nose, the mouth, etc.) with infected hands than even through breathing. Is it true? Hon. Jane Aceng, please clarify to all.
Maama is now out of self-isolation. She fought bravely. Praised be the Lord.” He wrote

He further emphasized the need for heightened sanitization, especially on frequently touched surfaces like door handles, tables, and armchairs.

Additionally, President Museveni urged a reconsideration of common practices, such as handshakes, which could contribute to the spread of the virus.
