Mumba Kenneth Kalifungwa has today officially taken over as Chief Executive, bringing decades of experience to drive growth, resilience, and innovation at Uganda’s biggest bank. His take over has ended over a year of a leadership vacuum at the most profitable Bank.

We announced in these pages in December 2024 that the Board of Directors of Stanbic Bank Uganda had appointed Mumba as the new Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank a subsidiary of Stanbic Uganda Holdings.

Speaking about Mumba’s appointment Damoni Kitabire, Board Chairman, Stanbic Bank Uganda said: “The bank has enjoyed a strong growth journey in recent years; we are confident that under Mumba’s leadership the bank will continue to experience even more success as we execute on our commitment to drive Uganda’s growth.”

One of Kenneth’s first tasks will be to announce the bank’s financial results for the year ending 31st December 2024. Shareholders are optimistic that more dividends will be paid compared to 2023.
