MTN Uganda, the leading telecommunications provider in the country, has announced the launch of its new number range, 0790, spanning from 0790 000 000 to 0799 999 999. This initiative, which aims to meet the growing demand for mobile numbers, was made possible with the approval of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), the country’s telecommunications regulator.
MTN Uganda shared her excitement about the new development, stating, “The introduction of the 0790 number range is a significant milestone for MTN in Uganda. It reflects their continued commitment to enhancing connectivity and providing customers with seamless communication options across the country. We are grateful for the approval and support of the UCC, which has allowed us to meet the increasing demand for mobile numbers in Uganda,” Mulinge Sylvia the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Uganda, said.
Since Mulinge Sylvia M.B.S took over as CEO in October 2022, MTN Uganda has expanded rapidly, achieving 20 million customers by mid-2024. The company’s focus on customer experience and technological innovation has been a key factor in its success.
Charles Mbire the Chairman of MTN Uganda’s Board, added, “The expansion of our number portfolio through the new 0790 range offers greater convenience and flexibility to our customers. This move further solidifies our position as Uganda’s Unstoppable Network, and we are proud to continue working with the UCC to improve telecommunications services across Uganda.”
The UCC, headed by its Executive Director, George William Nyombi Thembo, has been a key player in regulating Uganda’s telecommunications sector. The Commission’s continued support for initiatives like the 0790 range demonstrates its role in fostering industry growth while ensuring consumer protection and competitive practices.
Subscribers interested in acquiring numbers within the new 0790 range can visit MTN service centers or authorized dealers across Uganda.
MTN Uganda’s introduction of the 0790 number range further demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the country’s telecommunications infrastructure and ensuring its position as a leader in delivering exceptional customer services nationwide.
