MP Niwagaba Advocates for Cooperatives and Customary Titles
Ndorwa East Member of Parliament, Wilfred Niwagaba, advocates for the promotion of Cooperatives and Customary Titles within the constituency while issuing a stern warning to SACCO staff regarding cybercrimes.
Niwagaba urged the public to acknowledge the significance of cooperatives in community development and financial empowerment, emphasizing their pivotal role in facilitating access to finance for individual income growth and economic prosperity.
Addressing the congregation at the 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Lyamujungu Savings and Credit Cooperative Limited in Ndorwa, Niwagaba underscored the value of customary titles in land ownership and conflict resolution. He announced a collaborative effort with the Danish Embassy to facilitate the issuance of customary titles in Ndorwa East, urging residents to actively participate in the process. Niwagaba explained that customary titles are crucial for minimizing land disputes, especially concerning boundary delineations.
Furthermore, Niwagaba emphasized the potential of cooperatives to uplift communities and bolster the nation’s economy. He stressed the importance of cooperative agencies upholding integrity and transparency, cautioning SACCO staff against the misuse of technological advancements for fraudulent activities. Niwagaba warned the cooperative staff about the severe consequences stipulated by current cybercrime laws and urged them to prioritize contractual obligations over dishonest practices.
