Mother Arrested for Allegedly Torturing Children Over Beans

Police in Nakasongola District have registered disturbing in which a mother was arrested for reportedly subjecting her two young children to torture.

The victims include;  6-year-old Nagenda Fatuma and 4-year-old Nasuuna Hajara whose fingers were burned by their mother for stealing beans meant for super.

This tragic event took place on Monday, October 23, in Kyabutaika, a part of Kakooge Town Council in Nakasongola District.

According to Twineamazima Sam, the police spokesperson, Savannah region, on that ill-fated day, the  27-year-old mother named Namuwonge Justine allegedly  ignited a charcoal stove and then intentionally inflicted severe burns on her innocent children’s hands. Accusing them of stealing beans.

Twineamazima says that after harming her children, Namuwonge  did not rush to seek medical help for them. She intentionally left her children to endure their pain.

This distressing incident has left the community in Nakasongola deeply shaken, with some locals threatening to lynch the mother .
