The Ministry of Works and Transport has issued a traffic alert to all motorists and road users of Kabale -Kisoro road following heavy down pour that caused mudslides that blocked certain sections of the road, which means that motorists using that road should expect temporary traffic delays as the ministry through its station team is working tirelessly to clear the affected section and normalize the situation.

In a statement issued the Ministry urged motorists to follow traffic guidance and exercise Patience during operations as works progress.

The Ministry of works and transport recently resumed nation wide campaign to promote raod safety ahead of Christmas festivities and the initiative was intended to curb the raising number of raod accidents and fatalities in the country. The initiative saw zebra crossings painted in Lugazi town to make Uganda’s raods safer especially during the Festive season.

The senior Public relations officer of Ministry Works and Transport advised all motorists and road users to exercise caution because the heavy down pour rendered the road impassable for several hours which has paralyzed traffic but the station team is working the normalize the situation. “Motorists are informed that Land slides occured near Kanaba security check point along Kabale -Kisoro road following heavy rains, so please drive with caution as we share works progress, said Allan Ssempebwa.
