The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social development has launched very important documents at Ministry headquarters in Kampala. The ceremony attended by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry David Aggrey Kibenge, the Deputy Head of Public Service Jane Kyalisima and the State Minister for the  Elderly Dominic Gidudu Mafwabi. The documents are fully aligned to the country’s strategic plan and all in line with the National development plan 4

The strategic plan is a road map defining an organization’s long term goals usually 5- 10 years and it’s mission, vision and specific, resources and key performance indicators planned to achieve them providing clarity, direction and a framework for resource, allocation, performance measurement ensuring everyone aligns with the future state.

Client charter is a public commitment by an organization often government or Public Service outlining the standards, quality and rights clients can expect detailing services , response times, feedback, processes and compliant mechanisms.

Service delivery standards are measurable benchmarks, the quality, the quantity, time, costs and cost of service provided ensuring consistency, transparency and accountability especially in Public sectors setting clear expectations.

“This occasion is a very important milestone in improving the life style of the people and these are not just documents but instruments that will improve the life of all Ugandans and a central pillar in the gender agenda of Ugandans, said Jane Kyalisima the Deputy Head of Public Service on behalf of Head of Public service.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social development outlined a number of milestones such as the the highest number of beneficiaries registered and payments made in the SAGE program, social cash transfer funded by the world food program, provision of start up kits to the young people to join the world of work and connecting unemployed youth to employers in the private sector and public service and the 10,000 women entrepreneurs trained under the grow project.

“As we embark on improving service delivery guided by National Development Plan 4 within the new year with the 10 fold growth strategy with vigor and the ministry will benefit greatly from this as we face the future, said David Kibenge the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Gender
