Three people have been confirmed dead following a shooting incident that unfolded this morning at the offices of Ultimate Security Company in Mbuya, Bugolobi Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala.

According to a statement from Kampala Metropolitan Police, the fatal shooting occurred at approximately 9:00 AM when a security guard attached to the company, identified as Mwaawa Richard, opened fire on two of his colleagues before being neutralized by responding police officers.

The deceased victims have been identified as Noella Zella, an Assistant Human Resource Officer at the company, and Bwampata Salez, the firm’s Armory Officer. Mwaawa Richard, the alleged perpetrator, was fatally shot by law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly to the emergency call.

Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Area, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed that all three bodies were transported to City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examinations.

The firearm allegedly used in the shooting has been recovered and preserved as an exhibit for detailed forensic examination.

Police say the motive behind the attack remains unclear. “Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing. We urge the public to remain calm and allow the police to conduct a thorough inquiry,” Owoyesigyire said.
