An assailant was lynched by angry locals after he attacked a family of five with a machette on Monday morning.
The terrifying incident happened at 10:30 am when the unidentified goon stormed the residence of one Ayebare Anita, 25 , while she was having breakfast with the minors. It is alleged that he threatened to kill the entire family at their residence in Bongole Zone, Katwe, if she didnt release a ransom of 5 million shillings to him.
Luke Owoyesigyire Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Ayebare resisted his demands, prompting the assailant to turn violent towards her children including: Atuhaire Lucia (2 yrs), Ampaire Maria Zoe (5 yrs), Musiime Blair (7 yrs), and Ankunda Godius (14 yrs). The children sustained serious injuries during the ordeal.
Owoyesigyire explains that it took the intervention from local residents and law enforcement stationed at Mirimu net the assailant before more harm could be inflicted. The locals acted after hearing screams from Ayebare.
The children’s condition remains critical as they were transported to Nalujja Medical Center on Batata Entebbe road for urgent medical care.
The assailant’s body was taken to Mulago city mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations continue to uncover his identity and motives behind this appalling attack.
