A man in Arua died in a lodge over the weekend, while having sexual relations with his girlfriend.
The deceased is Ali Mustafa,25, a resident of Ozu cell, Kenya ward in Arua District had gone to Avenue Lounge with his lover identified as Adania Ratio when he suffered a cardiac arrest and died at about 9:00 pm.
Fred Enanga, the Uganda police spokesperson says Mustafa was in the act of having carnal knowledge when he collapsed. He says the deceased suffered respiratory failure as a result of obstruction to his airways.
He says Adania rushed to report the matter to the lodge authorities who forwarded the incident to police at Arua. He says it was later established that the deceased had no drugs or alcohol in his body at the time of his demise.
He says physical strain is a can happen to anyone during consensual sex, adding that the girlfriend was later released.
“Death during consensual sex is not something new and it can occur for a number of reasons, that include the physical strain of the activity or because of other unusual extenuating circumstances.” he says
