Police in Hoima looking for the biological child to a 9-month-old child, Morris Ayebale, whose head was chopped off during a domestic brawl.
The suspect is Peter Musana, a resident of Kiryatete West cell in the Hoima City East division. He is accused of chopping off Ayebale’s head using a machete and fleeing into hiding.
Musana’s wife Moreen Nyakato,says her husband returned home on the that fateful day and rushed to where the child was sleeping, and carried out the gruesome act.
Nyakato says she only discovered her child’s decapitated body lying in a pool of blood, raising the alarm and attracting neighbors, who were unable to apprehend the suspect as he had already fled the scene.
The motive for Musana’s alleged act is unclear, as there were no reports of misunderstandings between him and Nyakato.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, urged the public to provide information that could lead to Musana’s arrest and detention.
Hakiza added that the police had examined the body and handed it over to the family for burial arrangements. Once arrested, Musana will be charged with murder in court.
