Man Arrested For Brutally Stabbing Boda Boda Rider

Police in Nakapiripirit district are holding a 26 year old man for stabbing a Boda boda rider in Komaret village along the Amudat-Nakapiripirit road.

The suspect Nelson Omara, 26 used a sharp knife to injure his victim identified as John Akasule several times on the back on Sunday evening.

Preliminary findings indicate that Omara picked up a ride on a red Bajaj motorcycle registration number KMFL 380A from a Boda Boda stage in Amudat to Komarat village, however, half way the journey the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the deceased multiple times on the back under unclear circumstances.

Omara left his victim bleeding profusely and unconscious as he grabbed the motorcycle and fled the scene. Good Samaritans who passed by immediately notified police at Amudat CPS who proceeded to block all checkpoints in a bid to arrest the suspect.

Michael Longole, the Mt Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson, says Omara was finally arrested on Monday evening at the Moru-Ajore checkpoint along the Nakapiripirit-Mbale road.

He says the police also managed to retrieve the knife used in the attack, and the motorcycle which were both  taken into police custody as evidence.

Akasule is currently receiving treatment at Amudat Hospital.
