Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Kasirye Gwanga is unwell and he has been admitted to the army medical facility in Mbuya.

According to the army spokesperson, Brig. Richard Karemire, Gen. Gwanga is admitted at the UPDF Senior Officers Diagnostic Centre based in Mbuya.

“Doctors are taking care of him and there is no reason to speculate on his current whereabouts. He is not under any form of arrest,” Karemire stated.

Karemire’s clarification followed reports on social media that Kasirye had been arrested following his alleged beating of locals in Mityana who had defied President Museveni’s directives over COVID-19.
