President Yoweri Museveni who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces has appointed Maj Gen James Birungi the Special Forces Command boss, replacing Maj Gen Don Nabasa who is set for a military course in China.
Maj Gen Nabasa assumed command of the Special Forces in January 2017, replacing Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is currently the senior presidential advisor for special operations.
Maj Gen Birungi has been the Chief of Staff Airforce until his appointment as SFC commander.
Gen Birungi’s replacement has not yet been revealed but the Nile Wires understands that Gen Nabasa is set for a military course in China.
