The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has announced the death of Lt Gen Pecos Kutesa who has been hospitalised for some time.

Gen Kutesa, a bush war fighter and former member of parliament representing the UPDF missed the retirement ceremony at State House as he was indisposed.

“UPDF fraternity regrets to announce the passing on of Lt Gen Pecos Kutesa which occurred today in India. More details to follow. MHSRIEP,” the UPDF Spokesperson Brig Flavia Byekwaso tweeted.

Gen Kutesa is said to have been suffering from internal body organs. The retired UPDF General had initially suffered kidney complications. He was a key rebel figure of the National Resistance Army/Movement bush war.

Kutesa’s death comes a few days after the death of another bush war veteran, Maj Gen Stephen Rwabantu.

Condolences to the UPDF fraternity.
