Kyagulanyi’s Bodyguard Remanded for Unlawful Possession of Military Stores

Kivumbi Achiloe, 42,  who was accused of unlawfully possessing military property ,has been remanded to prison.

The bodyguard to Robert Kyagulanyi, the head of the National Unity Platform party and a resident of Nansana East B zone in Wakiso District, appeared before the Makindye Military Court, where he was charged with one count of unlawful possession of defense stores.

He was placed under investigation and kept under remand until September 2, 2024.

The prosecution claims that Kivumbi was discovered in possession of one pair of lieutenant colonel pips, which are categorized as defense stores, on August 3, 2024, at approximately 3:03 PM in the Nansana East B zone.

Security personnel dressed in civilian clothes detained the accused last week and took him to an undisclosed location. After that, he was returned to his house, where the military item was purportedly found during a search.
