The State House Anti-Corruption Unit, in collaboration with the CID, has brought Tumukugize Darlington, a biomedical engineer at Kiruddu NRH, before the Makindye Chief Magistrates Court on charges of Possessing Suspected Stolen Property and Unlawful Possession of Government of Uganda Stores.

The accused, employed as a biomedical engineer at Kiruddu Hospital and responsible for verifying medical supplies, allegedly coerced suppliers into purchasing medical equipment from his agents, including his wife’s company, Kamedi Tech Health Care & Hospital Supplies.

It is further alleged that after receiving the supplies, he illicitly resold some on the market for personal profit.

He was found in possession of twenty pieces of wall oxygen single flow meters and four hospital mattresses bearing labels from Kiruddu NRH and Mulago NRHR. He has been remanded until 14/05/2024.
