The aspiring member of Parliament for Bugahya Constituency and currently the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Kikuube district Amlan Tumusiime has instituted his Campaign task force ahead of 2026 general elections signaling his readiness to resign from his current government position as earlier indicated and join full time politics.
Speaking to a gathering of Local Council One and two chairmen in Kyambalimbwire Village in Kitoba Sub county in Hoima District over the weekend , Tumusiime committed himself to serve the people of Bugahya and represent them effectively in the August House .
The Campaign Team will be led by Hillary Gawhera as Chairman, Simon Kyalisima who was formerly the political assistant to Honourable Pius Wakabi will be Vice Chairman Jackline Atuhura will be in Charge of Finance and Personal assistant to Tumusiime, with Mr.Isingoma as advisor and Kurayisi, Collins and Hellen Adyeeri as Secretaries among others
Amlan’s tenure in Kikuube district as a RDC has left a lasting legacy and will be remembered for fighting the rampant land wrangles not only in Kikuube but the whole Bunyoro sub region, payment of School fees for the Orphans and Vulnerable school going Children and implementation and monitoring of government programmes such as Parish Development Model and Emyooga where he was recognised by Microfinance Support Centre as the best RDC in that aspect.
“I want to assure you people of Bugahya and Kitoba in Particular that am willing to serve you with my heart and strength as I have been doing in my capacity as Rdc and Chief of Rdcs in Bunyoro Sub region and am here to seek your support”, said Tumusiime. We are going to experience a new dawn of leadership in Bugahya Constituency, he added.
