Singers Kenneth Mugabi, Myko Ouma, and Ssewa Ssewa to Headline Pride of the Pearl Concert
Kenneth Mugabi, Myko Ouma, and Ssewa Ssewa are set to celebrate Ugandan sounds at the upcoming Pride of the Pearl concert. The event, scheduled for July 7th at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, promises to be a fusion of musical talents, with Sewa Sewa’s Janzi, Kenneth Mugabi’s Adungu, and Myko Ouma’s guitar taking center stage for a unique cultural experience.
Jonathan Kayongo, representing Soul Events Africa, the organizers of the concert, expressed their intention to showcase Uganda’s rich cultural heritage through music.
He highlighted the significance of featuring these three artists, describing them as the epitome of excellence in their respective fields.
“Myko Ouma is renowned for his exceptional guitar skills and composition. Ssewa Ssewa is not only the mastermind behind the Janzi instrument but also known for his adept fusion of Ugandan sounds with various traditional instruments. Kenneth Mugabi, on the other hand, is celebrated for his soulful vocals and mastery of the acoustic guitar.”
Kayongo emphasized the importance of having these masters of their craft to truly encapsulate the essence of Ugandan culture and heritage. He also mentioned that the concert will showcase instruments that embody the pride of the pearl, further enriching the cultural experience for attendees.
Tickets for the event are priced at shs500,000 per person, with an option for tables of 10 people at shs5 million.
