Kasese District to Host World Tourism Day 2024
Highlighting Tourism and Peace
The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities recently concluded a district assessment visit and selected Kasese to host the event scheduled for September 27, 2024.
Under the theme “Tourism and Peace,” the ministry’s permanent secretary, Doreen S. Katusiime, addressed a letter to the Chief Administrative Officer of Kasese. In the letter, she stated that the event aims to showcase the important developments and attractions of the region while highlighting the role of peace in the socioeconomic development of the area.
“We thank you for your passion and support of the tourism sector and look forward to a successful engagement and organization of World Tourism Day 2024,” the statement concluded.
Eric Baluku, the Kasese municipal tourism officer, expressed optimism, noting that such an event presents an opportunity to further showcase the tourism and business potentials of Kasese.
In recent years, Kasese has increasingly focused on its tourism potential to attract global attention.
The Rwenzori Theluji Festival, an annual tourism event, is a significant occasion aimed at promoting sustainable tourism investments and enhancing the allure of destination Kasese with a remarkable Rwenzori experience.
