Kamya Warns Lukwago On Celebrating Musisi’s Resignation
Lukwago in an earlier statement said that Musisi’s time at the helm of KCCA, under which she oversaw an annual budget of Sh700M, should be audited
The Minister for Kampala, Hon. Beti Kamya, has warned Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago against public outbursts over the resignation of outgoing Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) executive director Jennifer Musisi. Speaking at press briefing at the Uganda Media Centre on Thursday, Kamya insisted that it isn’t proper for Lukwago celebrate Musisi’s exit as it is conduct unbecoming of a leader.
“His statements have continued to irk officials at city hall and cause unnecessary tensions, which affect service delivery,” said Kamya.
Lukwago in an earlier statement said that Musisi’s time at the helm of KCCA, under which she oversaw an annual budget of Sh700M, should be audited.
“KCCA is governed by law and not an individual. Fueling fears of job security will not be accepted at city hall, insecurity undermines service delivery”. Kamya reiterated.
According to a 21 page letter dated October 15th 2018, Musisi wrote to President Museveni resigning her post as executive director KCCA meaning she would cease being at the helm of the office on 15th December 2018.
Meanwhile, Kamya hailed Musisi for successfully pioneering Kampala Capital City Authority in 2011. She said that under Musisi, the City has been cleaner and better managed.
