Kampala Police and UPDF Strengthen Security
As the countdown to the New Year begins, the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) have implemented comprehensive security measures to ensure safe and secure celebrations for the public.
With numerous establishments and entertainment venues preparing to welcome large crowds, authorities are focused on maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during the festivities.
The KMP deputy spokesperson,Luke Owoyesigire announced that police are collaborating with the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) and other security agencies to bolster preparations for the New Year celebrations.
Owoyesigire made these remarks while addressing the media at the police headquarters in Naguru on December 30, 2024.
“Other sister security agencies are meeting in preparation for the New Year festivities to secure members of the public, especially in the Kampala Metropolitan Area, which we know will be the busiest in the whole country,” Owoyesigire stated.
The police have urged revelers to cooperate with security personnel and adhere to all instructions to facilitate a peaceful celebration.
As excitement builds for the upcoming festivities, both law enforcement and citizens are encouraged to work together to create a safe environment for all.
